TV Remote for Sony TV

With the "Remote Control for Sony TV" app, you have the option to control your Sony TV using your smartphone. You can opt for network (WiFi / WiFi Direct / LAN) IP control or infrared (IR) control.

• Infrared (IR) control:

Works on phones and tablets with built-in IR blaster (infrared port) such as Samsung Galaxy S series until S6, HTC ONE, LG G3/G4/G5, Xiaomi Mi / Redmi / Note, Huawei Mate / Honor, and more. No setup is required, no WiFi needed, and it's ready to use without pairing with the TV. The IR blaster functionality has been tested on Samsung Galaxy series devices running on original Android 4.4+ firmware. It also works on some older Samsung devices running on Android 4.1 - 4.2.2. Please note the recommended working range is 4-10ft (1-3 meters), up to approximately 5 meters depending on the device.

• Network IP control (WiFi / WiFi Direct / LAN):

To utilize network IP control, ensure that your Sony TV is powered on and that both your mobile device and TV are connected to the same local/home network. When registering/pairing a Bravia TV, confirm that "Remote Device" / "Renderer" in the TV settings is enabled. If needed, instructions on changing settings post pairing confirmation refusal are provided as well as manual IP address input options.

A list of compatible TVs from 2011 to 2017 is included for your convenience within the app description.

The primary function of this app is not to substitute the original TV remote but rather to serve as backup during emergencies like misplaced remotes or discharge batteries.
